1- I am shy and always speak little

One of the obstacles to learning a language while communicating is nothing but feeling shy. The existence of such a feeling is derived from several factors. Factors such as limited vocabulary, not pronouncing all words correctly, or limited grammatical knowledge. Have you ever wondered if there is someone who can speak fluently right now? Has it been the same since day one? Definitely not.

As a language learner, you should put aside fear and shyness and communicate and speak according to your current language level. In this way, mastering and speaking fluently requires practice, practice and practice. If you don’t overcome this feeling, it can derail you as one of the obstacles to learning the language.

2- I’m afraid to make a mistake, so I don’t speak much

Making mistakes in the learning process is the main way to reach the goal, provided that we learn from our mistakes and do not repeat them. When you make a lot of mistakes, it means that you are trying to communicate and communicate, and remember that until you make mistakes, your weaknesses will not be revealed and you will not progress. Never look negatively at your mistakes.

Unfortunately, grammar is a topic that most learners worry about at the beginning of the journey. This concern is wrong. Grammar should be your last concern in the learning process. At first, you should be concerned about speaking and communicating because you don’t have to know all the grammar rules of the language to achieve this.

Suppose you want to ask an English speaker for an address and you say:

Excuse me, can you tell me how can I go to the gas station?

The above sentence is grammatically flawed and we should say:

Excuse me, can you tell me how I can go to the bus station?

Well, an English speaker will understand you completely and will definitely guide you. Be sure you will not be blamed for this mistake. Dear language learners, remember that focusing too much on grammar and fear of making mistakes will destroy your self-confidence and hinder your progress. Therefore, focusing too much on the mentioned topic is considered one of the obstacles to language learning and it undermines the main goal of language learning, which is to create communication.

3- Maybe others can, but I can’t

It may have happened to you that after a while you get frustrated with yourself and feel that you are not making as much progress as you did in the beginning. Such a feeling is completely natural and most language learners experience it. But the important point is how to deal with and manage this feeling. You should always expose yourself to interesting learning and challenges in this path.

For example, if you always watch movies and series or listen to the news, you will find that there are many things left to learn, and as a result, you will be encouraged to learn more than before. Without exaggeration, we must say that language learners studying at the Iran-Europe Language Institute rarely experience such confusion and disappointment because in addition to attending the general class, in the free side classes of the institute in the age groups of children, teenagers and adults with a focus They participate in a wide variety of subjects and also see how eager other learners are to learn, and as a result, this doubles their motivation.

It is true that the feeling of hopelessness is one of the obstacles to language learning, but in addition to the above solution, our academic advisors at Iran Europe Institute will accompany you to the end of the path by drawing and presenting a learning road map and will not let you get disappointed.

4- Why do others improve faster than me?

Unfortunately, comparing your language level with others is another obstacle to language learning and plays a destructive role in your morale and progress. You must have worked hard to reach this level of language ability. You should look at this as a success and achievement and be proud of it. Never pay attention to what other people think because they don’t know how many different challenges you have faced along the way.

On the other hand, learning is different in people, one person learns easily, but another person needs to practice more for learning to happen. Remember that you are allowed to compare yourself with your past and see where you were and where you are now.

Conclusion:

As mentioned, learning a language is a process that, in addition to time, requires constant effort and practice. Therefore, never be influenced by false beliefs and do not stop trying until you get the desired result. Meanwhile, the important role of educational institutions cannot be ignored. Institutions that have all the necessary standards and are considered a point of reference for language learners.
